Understanding Yoga #1: A New Year Has Begun, And With The New Year, Awaken The Yogi In You

Every year, many of us make resolutions, unfortunately to break them most of the time. I personally do not believe in resolutions but I do try to learn or begin something new every year. This year, I've decided to revive my blog and be more regular with it.

Many of us often break our fitness resolutions. We begin over-enthusiastically and gradually fizzle out of the habit. After that, going back to the practice is even more of a herculean task.

I am a yoga enthusiast, beginning advanced practices now. But as we advance, we must strengthen our basic knowledge.

So, what is yoga?

Yoga is a way of life. The word 'Yoga' is derived from the sanskrit word 'Yuj' which means 'union' or ' to join' Regular practice of Yoga helps us,  ( the physical consciousness)  connect with the soul and the supreme being (universal consciousness). Consistent practice helps achieve the desired  results. The practitioner goes beyond the physical level with dedicated practice. There are various types of yoga.To name a few -

Wishing you all a HAPPY, HEALTHY NEW YEAR!
